What to expect

I want you to feel 100% confident in your entire experience with me. From start to finish, I try to make things as easy as possible. From cranky spouses to wild children - there is nothing in this profession that I haven't seen. Your session will be beautiful and crazy.

It isn't about making things perfect,

It's about turning a moment into a memory.

Everything you'd ever want to know...

faqs

how many photos will i get?

The truth? Probably a lot! I guarantee a minimum number of images - but I don't hold back on the amount I deliver. I want you to have every moment possible. Every snicker. Every sassy face. Every kiss.

Where will our session be?

Every session is different! Hosting the session at your home is always fun, and gives a nice cozy feel. I also have a long-running list of amazing tried and true outdoor locations throughout the North Metro area that fit many styles! I am always open to different location suggestions - but if you have NO CLUE, then don't worry! I know of a place that will be PERFECT!

Can we bring our dog?

Fine with me! It's always fun to have the pups join in for a few family portraits! Chat with me prior to the session so we can discuss where we will keep the dogs after their photo debut is over.

What does "Printing rights" mean?

You CAN...
- Print for personal use, using the printing company of your choice
- Share with friends and family on social media
- Make Christmas cards

You CAN'T...
- Edit the photographs in any way, including filters or photoshop
- Sell them
- Enter contests or competitions for monetary gain

What do we wear?

This is always a daunting task. But really, don't take it too seriously. You want to look nice - but I believe sessions should be more about the way you FEEL. Happy. Content. Comfortable. Genuine. Loved.

I usually say - take your everyday style and elevate it. You want to be comfortable and you want it to still be 'you'.

Suggestions (take it or leave it)
- Dress mom first
- Be comfortable
- Wear white or muted tones
- Avoid clothing with logos
- Avoid puffy vests, large scarves, or big stiff collars
- Let kids help pick out what they wear
- Try stuff on in the store
- If you have red skin tones, avoid tops that are red or orange. Your top has the ability to reflect light and color back up onto your face (which is why I like white!)
- Mimic ideas you find on Pinterest
- Have fun with it!

When will we get our edited images?

This answer depends on the time of year. My usual turn-around time is anywhere between 2-5 weeks.

Where should I print my photos?

I have a professional printing company that I contract through. I highly HIGHLY recommend printing important pictures through me. You can order prints and other products right from your online gallery.

If you are looking to print them yourself, I have had good success with Mpix in the past!

But my kids are INSANE! HELP!

That's fine! Bring me all the sassy and feral kids! I do my very best to work quickly and efficiently. Keeping the session fun and easy. It might feel chaotic - but don't worry! I got your back!

Are there hidden fees?

Nope!

For the most part - what you see is what you get.

Additional charges would be discussed prior to your session!

When should we schedule a in-home newborn session?

Keep me in the loop as your pregnancy nears the end. I typically schedule the newborn sessions for 1-4 weeks after the baby is born! These will take place during the weekday, normally at about 10:00 am

When should I schedule my maternity session?

There is no correct answer. In a perfect world where babies stay put until week 40, I normally say 32 weeks is a good time to take pictures.

You want that bump showing, but don't wait so long that you're swollen and miserable. Which seems to be about the second trimester!

What is your favorite time of year for family sessions?

SUMMER! I know it's hot. But I live for that dreamy sunshine! Seems like May and August give me that perfect warm sun that I crave!

What is your busiest season?

Normally I am nonstop from September through January

Do you help with posing?

Are you as awkward as I am? I've got your back! I do my very best to give fun prompts that engage your family and keep those kiddos laughing! I'm constantly doing my best to check for issues with your hair, makeup, wardrobe etc. I will give pointers to avoid those pesty double chins and tell you when to suck in your gut.

I want you looking goooooood! I got you!
